Composed of all professional musicians, Thunderwüde is somewhat of a sideman supergroup led by the award winning singer-songwriter Jason Dennie. What started as a fun excuse to get together and rattle off bluegrass standards has turned into a vehicle for Dennie’s lyrical and melodic songwriting genius. The group is rounded out by the ultra talented Wesley Fritzemeier, and the ever steady Tommy Reifel. New fans to Thunderwüde will enjoy their ripping renditions on classic bluegrass, and intricate arrangements on Dennie’s originals.

Thunderwüde members have shared the bill with many notable artists including Arlo Guthrie, Keb Mo, Sam Bush, David Wilcox, LeAnn Rimes, The Raconteurs, Sheryl Crowe, and Taj Mahal, to name a few. Additionally, they have played such notable folk venues as The Ark, The Bluebird Cafe, Canal Street Tavern, World Cafe Live, The Bijou Theater, Big Top Chautauqua, and The Birchmere. They also cook some mean mac and cheese.
