Brad Rude, 24, has passionately pursued music for over a decade. Since his earliest days, Brad’s musical tone and lyrics have been a persuasive force. He wrote his first song at age 12, a punk anthem protesting a neighborhood-association’s request to remove his basketball hoop. Needless to say, the hoop remained.
Brad’s talent has since evolved while studying at the Berklee College of Music. He specializes in the bass guitar and vocals across rock, jazz, and popular music. Furthermore, Brad has spent several years performing in various musical groups, most notably The Social Bandits, an alternative-rock group who maintain a strong presence in the Detroit music scene.
Shepard Tone, a solo experience, is Brad’s most recent project. His indie-folk tunes gather inspiration from artists like Death Cab for Cutie and The Head and the Heart while maintaining a light, summer-time appeal. Following the project’s digital debut, Brad will return to the streets once more to make his mark on Detroit’s musical history with his live debut of Shepard Tone.
Jake McArthur & Natalie Lucassian
Indie rock singer-songwriter Natalie Lucassian and rootsy rock singer-songwriter Jake McArthur joined forces to create a collaborative folk project. The songs are cloaked in unapologetically honest lyrics and haunting melodies. Reminiscent of The Civil Wars, the two bring a unique balance of grit, soul, and heart.
