RJ Harper is Blue-Collar alt-country / Americana from Detroit, Michigan with a lot of grit, and a little bit of soul.
“Take a chance on a dream you want to come true. Right now.”
This is the mantra of a young man named RJ Harper. Hailing from Clinton Township, Michigan, this grassroots country singer started strumming at the young age of 5 years old and the calluses on his fingers have yet to have a break. Since then, it’s been a long journey full of soaring highs, woeful lows, and a bright future that all combine to give this new artist a bold sound that some already consider to be a fresh return to good ol’ country rock and roll.
Known throughout the Metro Detroit area, RJ’s early single “Dance With Me” reached the ears and hearts of fans. The breakthrough song saw the crowds swell at local performances. From dingy dive bars to momentous festival stages, RJ and his band deliver a stunning performance that’s half ten gallon hat and half Detroit grit and soul.
After a promising acoustic solo run, RJ began recruiting a band to bring his music to the next level. His protégé and co-writer, Kyle Muller, shares the duties on guitar. RJ taught Kyle how to play guitar at a young age, and years later, they work together to write and perform the music that speaks both to them and the multitudes of fans that so loyally attend every show. Best friend and rhythm aficionado Chris Claes lays down the basslines for the band. Ryan Smith, , provides the unmistakable driving back beat. PJ, a late addition to the group, specializes in banjo and mandolin.
In the summer of 2018, RJ and his band signed with indie label, All The Way Free, and partnered with Sony Music for distribution of his debut single, “For The Money,” as well as his upcoming E.P. in Spring of 2019. His music is available for streaming and download on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other online music retailers.
“Money be damned and dreams be pursued.”
RJ’s new single, “For the Money,” reaches out to those who live by the adage “rich in other things.” If you ask him, RJ will tell you the story of a conversation at a bar while on tour in Florida, where the bragging antics of a well off man fortified RJ to not only write the song, but also leave his career to pursue his dreams.
Country music singer Sadie Bass grew up in small town Michigan, hunting and fishing with her Dad, and those pastimes became the focal point of the first song she wrote called “Son He Never Had.” And yes, Sadie Bass is her given name. Her music and lifestyle could be the poster child for outlaw country music and she could easily hop the bus on any contemporary country music tour and be welcomed onto any stage today. Shortly after writing her first song and posting it on social media, she was contacted by country music radio stations and asked to perform opening sets for touring country acts traveling through Michigan.
Sadie began her college career with a softball scholarship, but quickly decided that being a dream chaser was what she was meant to do. She started writing more songs about romance, fishing, drinking beer, her pickup truck, family and faith, posting them online, and her grassroots following quickly spread like wildfire reaching 21k on Instagram in a few short months.
She has been contacted by multiple outdoor companies to be a model and brand influencer for their products, and one company offered to sponsor her next official video. Sadie is working on her first full length album, and has plans to move to Nashville. In the meantime, she has created a loyal following of fans who fill the house whenever and wherever she performs.
