By George Orwell, adapted for the stage by Ian Wooldridge
Directed by Anthony Guest.
Animal Farm is an allegorical fable that uses barnyard animals to mirror the events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. Opening on a note of joyous triumph for the farm creatures who have emancipated themselves from the cruel mastery of their human owner, audiences are left shaken with a tale of tragedy that begs the question: Could this happen in our own backyard?
The performance will be followed bay a talkback with the director and actors.
