Join us as we welcome these three amazing Nashville singer/songwriters to Lake Orion for a songwriters round!
Matthew Austin Bell

Matthew Austin Bell is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, and grew up on his family farm in Barren County Kentucky. In 2014, Bell moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue law school but dropped out to pursue his career in music. Subsequently, Bell signed a deal playing as house band for Losers II and other venues around Nashville. As of 2018, Bell has amassed credits writing and co-writing over 20 songs. His songs have appeared on many artists albums as well as releasing his own single ‘Boots’. Bell regularly plays in down town Nashville on the King and City Worship team and still sometimes sits in with his friends in downtown broadway.

Jesse Wayne Taylor

Unlike the majority of musicians in Nashville, singer, songwriter and guitar player, Jesse Wayne Taylor, is a born and bred middle Tennessee native. Growing up with a love for music, he experimented with writing lyrics as young as 7 years old. While singing in church throughout middle and high school, Jesse did not pick up the guitar until he was 18. In his early years of college at Lipscomb University, he quickly realized that music would be a very big part of his life. While still in school he played around town any chance he could get. Following his college graduation, he decided to become a full time musician. Over the past few years he’s been “cutting his teeth,” playing any show he could get his hands on and writing song after song. Along with releasing a new Ep in February, he has recently partnered with Creativets, a non-profit based in Nashville working with combat veterans suffering from PTSD, as a guitar instructor and staff writer for the veterans in the program.

Jobe Fortner

From the mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia, singer and songwriter Jobe Fortner’s musical roots run deep with gospel bluegrass and southern rock.  Jobe grew up singing hymns in church alongside his family since a child. After his childhood in the mountains Jobe’s family moved to Monroe, GA and music was replaced with football. Music returned to Jobe’s life in high school when he picked up a guitar and began learning from his English teacher. However, at that point, it was just a hobby. Jobe spent most of his life chasing his dream of playing football, and that led him to Emory and Henry College in Virginia where he would then realize that music was his true calling.. Jobe spent time learning his craft in his dorm room and playing small shows everywhere and anywhere he could. It wasn’t long before Jobe caught the attention of Bradley Jordan (Peachtree Entertainment). Jordan heard him sing his original song “Georgia” and immediately put him on a show with “a new kid he had coming into town…..Luke Combs”. Shortly after that first Combs’ show, Jobe began to tour with him, opening for his shows every weekend. Not only was Jobe learning from Luke, he also began to build a relationship with his future manager, Chris Kappy (Make Wake). After touring with Luke started it was time to make the next move. Jobe moved to Nashville, TN February 2016 to start to try and make a name for himself.

After nearly a year of writing and working on his sound, his debut self-titled EP was released in early 2018 and sparked a different level of buzz for Fortner.  It garnered the attention of other national acts and led to opening gigs stretching all over the united states with Frankie Ballard, Riley Green, Toby Keith, Cadillac Three, Whiskey Myers, Cody Johnson, The Steel Woods and also led to more shows with Luke Combs.

Jobe has released his new project the “Rona Mixtape” inspired by a secluded writing environment during quarantine of 2020. The songs speak of chasing dreams in Nashville and dealing with what you can’t control.!
Jobe’s sound crosses over extremely well from Southern Rock all the way to “north Georgia country”.  It blends all his influences from his gospel roots, to his country upbringing, southern rock, classic rock, and his time on the road. With so many landmarks and accomplishments so far it is easy to lose sight that Jobe’s career is just getting started. STAY TUNED.
