Detroit-born singer, songwriter, and musician, Anthony Retka, has spent the last fifteen years writing and performing music that has helped etch his place in the Detroit music scene. He has toured the United States with notable stops in Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago and New York. Anthony has independently released four solo studio records and two live solo albums alongside four full-length albums, a live double CD, and multiple EPs and Singles with his band, Tone & Niche.
Anthony recently released “Fields & Fortresses”, his most direct and expressive solo work to date. The new album features the strong vocal styling and lyrical abilities that people have come to expect from Anthony’s recordings. His band, Anthony Retka’s Big Parade, backs him up on the new release and the album also features a few special guest appearances by notable Detroit-area musicians.
“The richly poignant, refined folk and Americana of singer/songwriter Mike Galbraith. Galbraith’s got a great voice and a lot of heavy, poetic lyrics to lay on ya; lots of melody, as well. He’s a student of Dylan, of course, but he’s also very attuned to the sort of emotional grit of the grunge era, so he kind of blends that in. He makes it fit more towards those disarming, unconventional troubadours, like maybe a Paul Westerberg. Or more Billy Bragg, minus the accent.” (Jeff Milo, WDET-FM)
Ever since her first “gig” as a 6-year-old singing in her elementary school’s annual talent show, Carly Bins has loved to perform.
Now an 18-year-old Nashville-based college freshman, Carly is an accomplished singer-songwriter with a voice that’s a cross between Colbie Caillat, Melissa Etheridge and Taylor Swift. Her mature look and stage presence lead many people to believe she’s far older than her actual age.
Carly has performed extensively in Michigan and Ohio, including multi-day music festivals Electric Forest and LaureLive; the Ohio State Fair; the Michigan State Fair (she was the 2015 Michigan State Fair Superstar); listening rooms; and other local festivals, wineries, breweries, etc. – as well as opening for a number of local, regional and international touring musicians. She has also served as a volunteer musician with Giving Songs (a 501(c)(3) that supports families with legally blind, multi-disabled children) since 2013, recording multiple songs for the non-profit and performing at several fundraising events.
Carly’s debut EP, 3 A.M., was released March 22, 2016. She released her latest single – Not Meant to Be – on July 18, 2017. Both are available on iTunes, Amazon, Google Music, Spotify, etc. Physical EPs may also be purchased at any live performance.
