Lake Orion, Michigan born singer-songwriter Jilian Linklater wanted to be a pediatrician before she came to Nashville almost eight years ago. But when she discovered that songwriting was a viable career path on a trip she won to Nashville in 2008, she packed up her songs, moved to music city and put her career in medicine to rest.
After a 4 year run at Belmont University where she simultaneously majored in songwriting and broke the high jump record for the Bruin’s track team, her success has further proven she chose the correct career path.
Jilian has had song placements in NBC’s American Ninja Warrior, Amazon series ‘Eat the World’ with Emeril Lagasse, and A&E’s ‘Born This Way’. Her EP “Walking Stories” has accumulated over 6 million streams collectively on Spotify and most recently, you can hear Jilian’s most recent single “Time To Go” in the newest Disney Classic’s Trailer. She also has credits as a songwriter with cuts on Christian recording artist Jason Gray and country trio MamaDear. Over her nearly 8 years in Nashville she has played at some of Music City’s most notable music venues including The Bluebird Café as well as the music series’ Song Suffragettes and Musician’s Corner.
Fun facts: Lover of tiny houses, swing dancing, and the color yellow.
“I don’t care if you’re rock, pop, indie, folk, country or jazz-fusion, you will love Jilian’s music. You’ll love it because it has a way of cutting through styles and genres, and heading straight for your heart. That’s the kind of music we all love – the kind that connects us to the deepest things that matter most about our lives, and that’s what lies at the core of Jilian’s beautiful gift. Buy this music. Go see her play. She’s one of the rare ones.”
