Lake Orion, Michigan born singer-songwriter Jilian Linklater wanted to be a pediatrician before she came to Nashville almost seven years ago. But when she discovered that songwriting was a viable career path on a trip she won to Nashville in 2008, she packed up her songs, moved to music city and put her career in medicine to rest.
After a 4 year run at Belmont University where she simultaneously majored in songwriting and broke the high jump record for the Bruin’s track team, her success has further proven she chose the correct career path.
Jilian has had song placements in the Amazon series ‘Eat the World’ with Emeril Lagasse, A&E’s ‘Born This Way,’ and Degrassi. Her EP “Walking Stories” has accumulated over 6 million streams collectively on Spotify and most recently, you can hear Jilian’s single “Starts With a Seed” in an Uncle Ben’s ad as well as her upcoming single “Time To Go” in the newest Disney Classic’s Trailer. From the start, Nashville independent artist Renn’s journey into music was far from the conventional tale. Time spent torn between passion and insecurity, hobby and calling eventually lead to Heartache and a Song – Renn’s debut album. Poignant lyrics blended with raw, soulful melodies give listeners a starkly personal glimpse into his journey, in a way that connects us to our own.
Heartache and a Song released in November 2015, with the first single off the album, King of California, being featured on popular Nashville station Lightning 100.1FM shortly thereafter. In July 2016, Renn released follow-up single Other Side of Rain. To date, the album’s songs have seen over one million Spotify streams collectively.
