Her colorful and snappy enthusiasm is woven into every fiber of what she does, and her music is no exception. With her bright yet ethereal voice, this Ann Arbor, Michigan singer/songwriter serves up her fresh pop rock utterances with healthy sides of joy and introspection. February 2017, she emerged with her debut EP release, I Need Your Bloom, produced by Clèment Ducasse at The Aashrum Recording Studio in Ortonville, MI. The vibrant songs on the EP voice a strong message of being encouraged, knowing you’re loved, and following your dreams.
“My hope is that the songs will be catalysts for a very personal reception of love, healing, and freedom”. And with this, Heidi also expressed her driving goal to balance it all with catchy, fun, light-hearted music and lyrics.
Fall 2017, she released her first video and single, “Heavenish Dream” which can be viewed on her YouTube channel – Heidi Rickard Music. Coming December 8th, 2017, she will release another single along with a lyric video for her song, “Hope’s Treasure”. Her next album is currently in pre-production with plans for a summer 2018 release.
Heidi’s passion to help those in need runs in step with her music. She serves as a director on the board of “Haven of Hope”, an organization that restores hope to the women and children shattered by sexual violence in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa. HOH provides them with escapes, shelter, provision, medical care, and re-integration into family and society.
At shows, she will be performing her new song, “Hope’s Treasure” which was written to bring hope to the survivors and awareness to those who may want to help them. Once released, all proceeds will go toward HOH for a fully staffed, rehabilitation facility in Bukavu. Her merch table will have necklaces for sale that the survivors have made, in which all profit will go directly back to the survivors, through HOH. She plans to travel back to Bukavu again in 2018, to sing, help, and care for the women and children.
