The Cherry Blossom Ramblers deliver a delightful blend of traditional and contemporary American music
You’ll recognize two members of the band — Doc & Donna — from when they packed the 20 Front Street house with their Peter, Paul & Mary Remembered show. When joined by their daughter, Kelly, Cherry Blossom Ramblers will fill your spirit with the kind of emotion and tight harmonies that only a family band can produce.
Whether it’s lively 50’s pop-fun like Hit the Road Jack and Love Potion Number 9 or Peter, Paul & Mary nostalgia like “If I Had a Hammer and San Francisco Bay Blues, the band does an over-the-top job of capturing the mood.
Kelly will melt your heart with her version of Patty Griffin’s Oh Heavenly Day – a song that she sang to her husband on their wedding day. The show will include a good dose of spirit-lifting inspiration with songs like Stand by Me and Gospel favorites, Turn Your Radio On and All God’s Critters Have a Place in the Choir.
The icing on the cake will be a helping of international flare, as Doc and special guest, Ann Strubler, turn up the heat with some steamy Russian gypsy violin and beautiful Celtic ballads.
And of course being from Traverse City and true to their name, the family band always loves to sing Mama Gonna Bake Us a Cherry Pie, My Home Town and other original songs that celebrate family and faith.
Cherry Blossom Ramblers music is great medicine for the soul. ….and Doc should know, because he is a Psychiatrist by profession!
